Recall vote of Miami-Dade mayor will go ahead

It’s official. County Clerk Harvey Ruvin has counted all the petition forms and announced Tuesday that there are enough good ones that a recall election must be held on whether to oust Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Alvarez from office. Here’s the Miami Herald story.

The election must be held in 45 to 90 days. Still to come are recalls for five members of the county commission which also is tasked with arranging the recall election for Alvarez. Those petition forms are still being collected.
